 More Guides:

Hey there!
I wrote this guide to help aspiring Billposters.
Here's what the guide will cover:
•  Introduction
•  Pros and Cons
•  Builds
•  Skills
•  Awakenings
•  Gear
•  General Tips

Billposters

Introduction

Once you reach level 60 as an Assist, you will be able to job change into a Billposter.
Their main weapons are Knuckles & Shileds, or Sticks to buff & heal themselves/others.
Billposters are powerful melee fighters who can also be tanky. The main stat point for a 1 versus 1 Billposter is Strength (STR), but they also benefit from Dexterity (DEX), and sometimes a bit of Stamina (STA). There are many play styles and builds for this job, but this guide is for 1v1 players.

The Pros of a 1 versus 1 Billposter:

High Damage

Tanky

Self-sufficient
Billposters are able to buff themselves (Assist buffs) in order to increase their damage and endurance. They don't depend on Ringmasters, but of course if you can get a FS to aid you, it will be much better.

Ability to stun chain
You can pretty much chain stun monsters/players with the help of a skill called "Stone Hand".

Usefull buffs/skills

Good in PvP

Awesome Giant Hunter

The Cons of an 1 versus 1 Billposter:

Slow leveling compared to an AoE Billposter

Not as good in PvP compared to Asalraalaikum Billposters

Stonehand Bug
There's currently a bug that sometimes causes monsters to attack faster when they come out of the Stun effect. This can be a problem when you Giant Hunt. A quick way to fix this is to run away for a while when they get out of the Stun effect. After a few seconds of running away (or in big circles), just attack the monster again.
 Builds for a 1 versus 1 Billposter!

Recommended build:
Keep in mind: DO NOT add any INT as it doesn't benefit 1v1 Billposters in any way!
Without any buffs or equipment:

FINAL

STR: XXX
STA: 30
DEX: 43
INT: 15

You will need a lot of Strength, as Strength brings your attack power up. Add as many points as you can.
Stamina is needed to survive critical hits from monsters. With maxxed Heap Up, your Stamina points should be at 70.
Dexterity increases your accuracy, attack speed and critical chance. With maxxed Cannon Ball, you should have at least 63 DEX, which results in a speed break.

DO NOT ADD ANY INTELLIGENCE POINTS.

Skills - which ones do you need to max?

When you create a character, you won't receive infinite SP (skill points), you receive SP upon leveling up and job changing. Level 1 characters start out with 0 SP. There are lots of skills available but never enough SP, so you cannot max all skills, at least not until you level up to a very high level. Therefore, be careful in which skills you put points in. Add points only in skills that will unlock the skills that you need (specified in the guide). Most of them have requirements, a level requirement and a previous skill requirement. (e.g. Skill Y requires 4 points in skill X and it also requires you to be level 20 to unlock it). SP gain depends on your level, the higher the level, the more SP you get upon leveling up.

Maximum skill level

First Job: level 20.
Second Job: level 10.
Third Job: level 5.

Vagrant Skill Tree

Don't spend any points in the Vagrant skills. Save the points for your Assist skills.

Assist Skill Tree

In importance order (left to right):
Heap Up, Haste, Stonehand, Beef Up, Accuracy, Cannon Ball, Quick Step.
 Heap Up
Lv. 20

- Increases the Stamina of a target by +40 when maxxed.

Haste

Lv. 25

- Increases the Attack Speed of a target by +25% when maxxed.

Stonehand
Lv. 20

Leave Stonehand at only level 19, because level 19 Stonehand
is the same as the level 20 Stonehand. Therefore, you will save 2 skill points.

- Attacks have a chance to stun for a short period of time.

Beef Up
Lv. 25
 - Increases the Strength of a target by +20 when maxxed.

Accuracy
Lv. 30
 - Increases the accuracy of a target by +20% when maxxed.

Cannon Ball
Lv. 35
 - Increases the Dexterity of a target by +20 when maxxed.

Quick Step
Lv. 20
 - Increases the walk speed of a target by +30% when maxxed.

(Optional) Resurrection.
Lv. 20
 - Resurrects a dead player. Leave it at level 1 or 4

Billposter Skill Tree
Asmodeus
Lv. 60

- Increases your Attack Power when using a Knuckle by +80 when maxxed.

Sonichand
Lv. 75

- Fast, straight punch.
This skill is mostly used in PvP, so if you want to PvP, max this skill too.
Sonichand works well with Stonehand.

Asalraalaikum
Lv. 80

- Fully concentrated strike. It consumes all of your MP.

This skill is what makes Billposters so strong in PvP.
High level players who PvP will max this skill and build around it.
Their gear is focused on MP and STR awakenings as this skill gets stronger with more MP and STR. It can K.O. most of the players and normal monsters in 1 hit with the right equipment.

Special Knuckle Mastery - Master Skill

- Boosts the attack power of your knuckle. The higher your mastery level, the more effective it is.

Awakenings
You will have to aim for ICD/STR/CRIT/DEX awakenings. Since you're 1v1 you're going to rely on critical hits. Therefore, ICD and STR are the best awakenings for you.
ICD = Increased Critical Damage. (also referred to as ADOCH)

Helmet: STR/DEX (Preferred STR)
Suit: ICD/CRITICAL CHANCE (Preferred ICD)
Gaunts: CRIT/ATTACK SPEED (Preferred CRIT)
Boots: ICD
Weapon: ICD/STR/CRITICAL CHANCE/DEX (Preferred ICD)
Shield: ICD/CRITICAL CHANCE (Do you lack Critical Chance? If yes, get some critical chance.)
Pet: ICD/STR/CRITICAL CHANCE/DEX (Preferred ICD)
Fashion: ICD/STR/CRITICAL CHANCE/DEX (Preferred ICD)

As you can see, you need a lot of ICD, but keep in mind that Critical Chance awakenings are also needed. ICD increases your critical hit attack, but if you don't have a lot of Critical  Chance then it's pointless. Try to balance the awakenings out.

Gear

This highly depends on your budget!

Levels 1-59

Best option: High budget
Vagrant gear with good awakenings or you can use an awesome awakened level 30 green set. Depending on your awakenings, you could keep these sets until level 105.

Second option: Low budget
Sardine/Curus Set
Lv. 15

1/4: No effect
2/4: Def+15, DEX+3
3/4: Def+33, DEX+3, FP+10%, MP+10%
4/4: Def+33, DEX+3, FP+10%, MP+10%, Atk Speed+10%

Or you can use the Talin/Sayram Set.

Talin/Sayram (Recommended)
Lv. 30

1/4: No effect
2/4: Def+19, INT+5
3/4: Def+47, INT+5, FP Consumption-15%, MP Consumption-15%
4/4: Def+47, INT+5, FP Consumption-15%, MP Consumption-15%, Crit Rate+10%

This set is awesome because of the Critical Rate it gives. You can also get it for free if you complete Reonan's chain quests, you will be rewarded with equipment, EXP and penya, so I recommend completing the quests.

Levels 60-104

Best option: High budget
Keep using the awakened Vagrant or Talin/Sayram set.

Second option: Low budget

Continue using the Talin/Sayram set or try buying a decent Vagrant set. (one that surpasses your level 30 set)

Alternatively, you could buy one of the following sets:

Shurand/Shuran Set
Lv. 60
1/4: No effect
2/4: Def+19
3/4: Def+45, INT+8
4/4: Def+45, INT+8, Add HP+15%

Alext/Ales Set
Lv. 75
1/4: No effect
2/4: Def+21
3/4: Def+43, DEX+7
4/4: Def+43, DEX+7, Add HP+15%

Levels 105-150

The Rody/Rodey set is a must. It can be clean or not, this again depends on your budget.

This is the best available set for a 1v1 Billposter.

Rody/Rodey Set
Lv. 105

1/4: No effect
2/4: Def+20
3/4: Def+47, Hit Rate 12%
4/4: Critical Damage +40%, Def+47, Hit Rate 12%

If you want to have a backup set for tanking stuff, I recommend the following set.

Billst/Billporon Set
Lv. 105

1/4: No effect
2/4: Def+10%
3/4: Def+10%, Ranged Block+10%, Melee Block+10%
4/4: HP+15%,Def+15%, Ranged Block+15%, Melee Block+15%

Pets

Recommended for leveling/damage: Tiger / Rabbit.
Tanking/Endurance: Unicorn / Lion.

Use a tiger for more damage or use the rabbit if you lack attack speed/critical chance/accuracy.
Lions are better for high level characters, while unicorns are better for lower level characters.

Shields

Any shield that has good awakenings.
Keep in mind that there are some rare shields out there too.

Ancient Shield
Lv. 57

DEF: 348-351

Shield of Ivillnes
Lv. 70
DEF: 280-282
BONUS: ALL Stats +1.

Weapons

Levels 1-44

Any Knuckle/Stick that you can wear, depending on your level. If you're still completing Reonan's quests, at level 40-ish there will be a quest that will reward you with a level 40 Knuckle & Stick upgraded to +6. I will not mention Sticks because you can use any Stick, they don't really matter.

Level 45

Fist of Revenge

It's a bonus, but totally not required. Use it if you can or afford.

Attack: 130 ~ 132
Attack Speed: Fast
Bonus: STR+5, Damage reflect+10%
Required Job: Assist
Required Level: 45

Level 60

Guardian Knuckle (Recommended)

Attack: 258 ~ 260
Attack Speed: Fast
Bonus: Critical Chance +6%, Attack Speed +3%, Increased Critical Damage +23%, Reflect Damage +1%, Hit +10%
Required Job: Assist
Required Level: 60

Yakadain Knuckle
(If you can't afford a Guardian Knuckle)

Attack: 220 ~ 225
Attack Speed: Fast
Bonus: STR+5, Hit rate+20%
Required Job: Assist
Required Level: 60

Levels 75-120 Non-Master

Once you reach level 75, you NEED a Ultimate Lusaka's Fist. This weapon is more powerful than a level 105 green Knuckle. If you can't afford a Lusaka Knuckle, just buy a green weapon, depending on your level.
Ultimate Lusaka's Fist

Attack: 493 ~ 494
Attack Speed: Fast
Added bonus: Critical Chance +10%, Attack Speed +6%, Increased Critical Damage +63%, Additional Damage to Monsters [Wind]+3%, Hit +10%
Required Job: Assist
Required Level: 75

Green Weapon's (Not recommended)
These are all obtainable through normal Giants.
Level 75: Historic Knuckle
Level 90: Angel Knuckle
Level 105: Legendary Golden Gloves
Level 120: Bloody Knuckle (This one is actually good but you're already high level at this point)
Bloody weapons drop from Red Meteonyker, a powerful boss.

You can also buy any of the following:
These are all obatinable through game Bosses, therefore more powerful and expensive.
Level 80: Ultimate Knuckle of Madness
Level 95: Ultimate Fist of Tides
Level 110: Ultimate Godhand
Level 120: Ultimate Vampire Knuckle

These 4 are actually gradually better than the Lusaka Knuckle, but only slightly.
Therefore, I don't recommend buying all of them, but only ONE and keeping it until you can afford the Master/Hero Weapons.

 Levels 60-120 Master

Once Master, you're going to be able to use the following weapons:

75 Master: Ultimate Lusaka's Crystal Fist
80 Master: Ultimate Mystic Knuckle of Madness
95 Master: Ultimate Majestic Fist of Tides
110 Master: Ultimate Mastercraft Godhand
120 Master: Ultimate Ancient Knuckle

They are gradually better, but only slightly. Therefore, I don't recommend buying all of them, but only ONE and keeping it until you can afford an Ancient Knuckle
In the end it's not worth buying each one of them.  You will also have to upgrade them every time you purchase a new one, that's why I'm suggesting sticking only with one.
My recommendation:

Level 75: Buy a Ultimate Lusaka's Knuckle -> keep it until you reach level 75 Master.
(Optional) Level 75 Master: Buy a Ultimate Lusaka's Crystal Knuckle -> keep it until you reach level 120 Master.
Level 120 Master: Buy a Ultimate Ancient Knuckle

 Jewerly

Any jewerly that gives you STR, ICD, Increased Attack, Attack Damge etc.
You may even use Arek's (DEX) for example if you have a wrong build or negative DEX awakenings.
This ONLY if you lack Attack Speed, Hit Rate or Critical Chance.

Cards

Weapons
For PvM you will need Fire and Electric Cards. Try to balance them out, see what you're lacking.

Suit
Lightning Cards or Volcano Cards. This depends on what you're trying to do, deal damage or tank.
Volcano Cards give HP %
Lightning Cards give Increased Attack %.

 General Tips

- Completing Reonan's quests would be a wise choice if you don't have penya.
- It's a bonus having a Ringmaster around. You can multi log, so get your Assist (Assist->BP) to level 34, then get your second character to level 15 (Assist->RM) and you will be able to plvl yourself.
- Always have a leecher while leveling.
- Join an Advanced Party while leveling.
